Volunteer opportunities

Grace Flight of America (GFA) is a nonprofit organization that relies heavily on volunteers to carry out its mission. The value contributed by our volunteer pilots is unprecedented in the nonprofit community. In addition to the phenomenal generosity of our volunteer pilots, empathic volunteers assist staff with everything from daily operations to the non-profits' special event fundraisers. The time and commitment of these volunteers is unparalleled and invaluable to the calibre of service Grace Flight is able to provide to those in need.

Operation Support Volunteers Needed Immediately!

Grace Flight is seeking one or more volunteers to assist staff with a variety of daily administrative functions. Volunteer pilots provides free flights for people who must travel to receive specialized medical treatment not available to them locally. Grace Flight volunteer pilots have consistently flown over 3,000 missions annually. Increased demand is straining the human resources of this outstanding organization. From answering telephones to producing pilot packages, if you’ve got a half-a-day or more, Grace Flight can use your help TODAY! Volunteer Coordinator

HELP WANTED: GFA seeks a Volunteer Coordinator with about five available hours per week to recruit and train new volunteers and make volunteer assignments based upon workload demands. This job has flexible hours. Much of the work can be done from a home office. If you are well connected in the community with good people skills, this could be a very rewarding, responsible, high-profile volunteer position offering a chance to work with our outstanding staff to make a huge impact on the ongoing well being of Grace Flight.  Please contact 972-755-0433 for additional information.

Fundraising

We're always on the lookout for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to assist with our special events. Call 972-755-0433 to find out about opportunities to help with fundraising events benefiting Grace Flight of America in cities in your region. We need committee members to secure silent auction items and assist in securing sponsorships for GFA events.

Community Sponsorship Opportunities
If you have contacts inside a corporation or foundation in your area that might be a good candidate to support Grace Flight, please call 972-755-0433.

Other office opportunities
 If you have a few hours each week on a regular basis, we always need help with pilot and patient administrationrescue, database administration, answering phones, filing, and preparing large mailings.  Please contact Angie Fonseca if you can help with administrative tasks.

 
We also seek someone willing to make a long-term commitment to train as a volunteer mission coordinator. No previous experience necessary. We will train. A mission coordinator is one of our most important staff positions. He or she finds volunteer pilots on our roster willing to fly missions. After a brief training period, the coordinator would be called if a staff member is sick or absent during busy times. (One of our best coordinators started as a volunteer.) Outreach
Grace Flight is always looking for volunteers willing to spread the word about our fine organization. Outreach opportunities include speaking to civic groups (Rotary, Kiwanis), healthcare organizations, religious groups, social workers, and pilot associations/ flying clubs.
